PhotoSC is a 501C3 non-profit arts organization dedicated to the exploration of photography and the ever changing landscape of image making and visual culture. elevating the photographic arts and the advancement of the art form throughout South Carolina. Our vision and focus is on developing a dialogue about photography and the photographic arts; an appreciation of the most contemporary and ever-changing art form and its role in society, while serving as an informative and engaging resource for photographers, artists, students, and scholars through exhibitions, classes and community outreach. Given the overwhelming interest in photography, the need for visual literacy and arts education demands a clear understanding of what is considered a “good photograph.” Our plan to provide programming that addresses the photographic canon, presently in classes and galleries via Zoom until in-person classes begin.
